Nguyen Thi My Hanh is an economist with undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in economics, accounting, and international finance. In 1996, after a brief career in private industry, Hanh joined the Vietnamese office of a major Danish consulting company, eventually becoming deputy director and senior national staff member. Hanh has an intimate knowledge of the development process. She is familiar with all of the various stages of the project cycle, from identification and formulation through appraisal, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. She has a detailed knowledge of Vietnamese government and bureaucracy, and an impressive track record of work for international donors, including Danida, Norad, the Swiss Development Corporation (SDC), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) of Germany, the European Commission, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. Hanh has experience of most of the principal aid modalities, including technical assistance, integrated programmes, sector-wide approaches, mixed credits, and budgetary support. She is fluent in Vietnamese and English.
